Green Hangerz was founded with three ideas in mind: REDUCE the world's consumption of our natural resources, by REUSING consumables we use in our daily lives and to REWIRE our actions to make a positive impact on our environment.
"Whats the big deal with throwing away a few old hangers?"
Consider this… 8-10 billion plastic and wire hangers are produced and sold every year, and only about 15% are ever recycled. And when these hangers make their way into landfills, they leach benzene (a carcinogen) and bisphenol-A (a hormone disrupter) into our ground water.
In addition, consider the environmental impact of mining metal and distilling petroleum to create new hangers. All of these processes consume an enormous amount of our natural resources and energy. Add to that the energy it takes to produce and distribute new hangers and you can see the positive impact recycling your hangers can have!
